Dr. Tsutomu Fujita Hospital President and Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Fujita has many years of experience in the interventional treatment of coronary artery disease. In 2008, he established the Sapporo Cardiovascular Clinic to improve access to specialist cardiovascular care. Within three years, the clinic became one of Japan’s most renowned facilities for cardiovascular interventions.
Its success can be attributed to the dedicated team of staff, whose philosophy is to ensure early detection without relying on invasive diagnostic procedures that place an additional burden on patients. Since its opening, the clinic has attracted a dynamic and ambitious team of doctors, who frequently participate in academic conferences, research presentations, lectures, and training.
In 2012, the Sapporo Cardiovascular Clinic began offering cardiac surgery, becoming a fully-fledged hospital for all cardiovascular conditions. The clinic’s Director of Cardiovascular Surgery, Dr. Tsutomu Fujita, previously worked at Hokkaido Ohno Hospital, one of the region’s largest facilities for cardiovascular surgery. The Sapporo Cardiovascular Clinic is ranked fourth nationally and first in Hokkaido for cardiovascular medicine, as well as first in Hokkaido for cardiovascular surgery – an achievement of which I am immensely proud.
As a doctor at the Sapporo Cardiovascular Clinic, I hope to continue building on our achievements and make a meaningful contribution to Hokkaido’s healthcare sector.
